When you arrive at Istanbul airport, the driver will be waiting for you at the exit with the board bearing your name. You will then be driven to the hotel. Please spend the remainder of the day relaxing and taking your time checking in. Your travel advisor will meet you at the hotel at the scheduled time to give you a brief overview of your eight-day tour of Turkey and the Aegean Sea.
Following breakfast, you will be picked up by our guide from the lobby to begin the walking tour of the Old City. You will see significant locations today, including: The famed Blue Mosque and Hippodrome, the German Fountain, the Topkapi (Sultan’s) Palace, the Grand Covered Bazaar, the Egyptian Obelisk of Theodosius and the Serpentine Column from the Temple of Delphi. (Everything is a walking area.) You will be driven back to your hotel at the conclusion of the tour.
After you check out of your room early in the morning, our driver will pick you up for a four-hour bus ride to the Gallipoli Peninsula, stopping en route for breakfast. After a lunch break upon arrival, we will visit Brighton Beach, the cemeteries at Ari Burnu and ANZAC Cove, the Australian memorial and cemetery at Lone Pine, the original tunnels and trenches at Johnston’s Jolly, the notorious Nek cemetery, the Chunuk Bair, Ataturk memorial, and the New Zealand memorial and cemetery. You will be taken to the hotel at the conclusion of the day.
After breakfast and check-out, we will pick you up from the hotel lobby and depart for Troy. Here, you will see the famous replica of the Wooden Trojan Horse, the Excavation Information Center, the fortification walls of Troy VI, sacrificial altars, the Odeon, and the Temple of Athena.
After lunch, we continue to the ancient city of Pergamon to explore its remarkable sites, including the Acropolis, the Library, the Temple of Athena, the Altar of Zeus, the Asclepion Health Center, the Hellenistic Theatre, the Temple of Dionysus, and the Red Basilica. The hillside theatre is one of the most impressive structures in the city.
After completing the tour, we will drive to the beautiful resort town of Kusadasi and drop you at your hotel.
Following breakfast, the guide will take you up from the hotel at the scheduled hour so we can begin our tour of Ephesus, where we will see: The 25,000-seat amphitheater, the renowned Celsius Library, the Temple of Hadrian and Ephesos amphitheater with waterfront street of Ephesus Ancient City, the Temple of Artemis (one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World), and the House of the Virgin Mary—her final residence—will be the last section. At this point, the tour will come to a conclusion, and you will be returned to the hotel.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and meet your guide for a full-day tour to Pamukkale and Hierapolis. After a scenic drive with short stops, arrive in Pamukkale for lunch. Then explore the ancient city of Hierapolis, including its gates, necropolis, and impressive theatre. You will also visit the famous white Travertine terraces and enjoy the beautiful panoramic views. There will be free time to swim in the Cleopatra Pool among ancient ruins or visit the Hierapolis Archaeology Museum.
At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, our representative will meet you at the exit and transfer you to your hotel.
After breakfast, take advantage of this day to explore Istanbul independently. For instance, you might take a half-day Bosphorus cruise, which is a must-do activity when visiting Istanbul; you could also schedule a day trip to the Mediterranean Islands with your agency, where you may swim or take a bicycle ride. The Bosphorus dinner cruise is an evening excursion that offers a stunning view of Istanbul’s nighttime European and Asian sides.
After breakfast, check out of the hotel between 12:00 and 13:00. The driver will be at the lobby to take you to the airport, depending on the schedule of your international flight. Your eight-day vacation of Turkey is coming to a conclusion, and we hope to see you again soon.
