An Excel Travel agent greets you and helps you with the immigration procedure when you arrive at Cairo International Airport. A contemporary, air-conditioned vehicle will transport you to the hotel via Old Cairo, where you can take in the expansive view of the citadel, the tall Mohamed Ali Mosque, and the Sultan Hassan and El Refaie mosques. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and take some time to rest. Return to the hotel and spend the night in Cairo after dinner at an oriental restaurant and an optional visit of the Sound & Light Show by the Pyramids.
After breakfast, begin a guided visit to the legendary Pyramids of Giza — Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus — and the iconic Great Sphinx. A brief stop at a papyrus institute or perfume shop may follow before lunch at an oriental restaurant.
In the afternoon, explore the renowned Egyptian Museum, home to over 120,000 artifacts including statues, jewelry, and the treasures of Tutankhamun. Continue to the vibrant Khan El Khalili Bazaar, famous for its lively atmosphere and traditional crafts.
Return to the hotel to refresh, enjoy dinner at an oriental restaurant, and stay overnight in Cairo.
After breakfast, travel from Cairo to Alexandria via the desert road (approx. 225 km). Begin a guided tour visiting Pompey’s Pillar and the historic Kom El-Shoqafa Catacombs, followed by time at the scenic Montazah Gardens surrounding the former royal palace.
Drive past the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina and view the impressive Qaitbay Citadel from the outside, built on the site of the ancient lighthouse. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant before returning to Cairo for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Early morning check-out with tea, coffee, and a breakfast box before transferring to Cairo Airport for a short flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, meet and assist before visiting the Old Dam (drive over) and the High Dam, followed by a motorboat trip to the beautiful Temple of Philae on Isis Island. Transfer to your Nile Cruise for check-in.
Enjoy lunch onboard and a relaxing afternoon felucca sail around Elephantine and Botanical Islands with views of the Aga Khan Mausoleum. Dinner and overnight stay on the cruise.
Optional Excursion: Visit Abu Simbel by air or land, arranged later in the day or early the following morning.
An optional coach trip to the magnificent Temples of Abu Simbel, which are surrounded by four enormous stone sculptures of Ramses II, will begin with a very early wake-up call and breakfast box. The Temple was rebuilt at its current location after being reclaimed from the dam to protect it from Lake Nasser’s rising water levels. When you get back from Abu Simbel, sail to Kom Embo. See the Ptolemaic Temple in Kom Embo, which is shared by the gods Sobek and Heroeris.
Spend the night on board and sail to Edfu.
Transfer by horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus in Edfu for a guided visit, then return to the Nile Cruise and sail toward Esna / Luxor. Upon arrival, explore the magnificent Karnak Temple and view Luxor Temple from the outside, often described as an open-air museum. Overnight stay onboard.
Luxor Departure
After early breakfast and check-out, visit Luxor’s West Bank, including the Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. Return to collect luggage and transfer to Luxor Airport for your onward international flight.
