An Excel Travel agent greets you and helps you with the immigration procedure when you arrive at Cairo International Airport. A contemporary, air-conditioned vehicle will transport you to the hotel via Old Cairo, where you can take in the expansive view of the citadel, the tall Mohamed Ali Mosque, and the Sultan Hassan and El Refaie mosques. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and take some time to rest. Return to the hotel and spend the night in Cairo after dinner at an oriental restaurant and an optional visit of the Sound & Light Show by the Pyramids.
Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel before setting out on a guided visit to the legendary Pyramids of Giza — Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus — among the most remarkable wonders of the ancient world. Explore the iconic Great Sphinx, an impressive limestone monument symbolizing Egypt’s rich history. A brief stop at a papyrus institute or perfume shop may follow.
Enjoy lunch at a local oriental restaurant, then continue to the renowned Egyptian Museum, home to thousands of artifacts spanning prehistoric to Greco-Roman eras, including statues, jewelry, and the treasures of Tutankhamun.
Later, drive through downtown Cairo to the vibrant Khan El Khalili Bazaar, famous for its traditional crafts and lively alleyways. Return to the hotel to refresh, followed by dinner at an oriental restaurant and an overnight stay in Cairo.
After breakfast at your Cairo hotel, travel along the desert road to Alexandria (approx. 225 km) for a guided city tour. Visit the historic Pompey’s Pillar, a striking granite monument, and explore the fascinating Kom El-Shoqafa Catacombs, dating back to the 1st and 2nd centuries. Continue to the beautiful Montazah Gardens, where scenic landscapes and sandy beaches surround the former royal palace.
Pass by the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a cultural landmark inspired by the ancient Library of Alexandria, and view the impressive Qaitbay Citadel from the outside, built on the site of the legendary lighthouse.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Cairo. Dinner will be served at a restaurant, followed by an overnight stay at your hotel.
Early morning check-out with tea, coffee, and a breakfast box before transferring to Cairo Airport for a short flight (approx. 70 minutes) to Aswan, the southern gateway of Egypt. Upon arrival, meet and assist before starting a guided visit passing the Old Dam and exploring the High Dam, a key source of irrigation and power for the country. Continue by motorboat to the scenic Temple of Philae on Isis Island, then transfer to your Nile Cruise for check-in.
Enjoy lunch onboard, followed by a relaxing afternoon felucca sail around Elephantine and Botanical Islands with views of the Aga Khan Mausoleum. Return to the cruise for dinner and overnight stay.
Optional Excursion: Visit Abu Simbel by air or land, arranged either later in the day or early the following morning depending on travel preference.
An optional coach trip to the magnificent Temples of Abu Simbel, which are surrounded by four enormous stone sculptures of Ramses II, will begin with a very early wake-up call and breakfast box. The Temple was rebuilt at its current location after being reclaimed from the dam to protect it from Lake Nasser’s rising water levels. When you get back from Abu Simbel, sail to Kom Embo. See the Ptolemaic Temple in Kom Embo, which is shared by the gods Sobek and Heroeris. Spend the night on board and sail to Edfu.
After an early breakfast and check-out, begin your tour of Luxor’s west bank, which includes the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and the Colosse of Memnon. Return to the Nile cruise, pick up your bags, and drive to the Luxor airport in preparation for your international flight.
